Lokuttara (Supramundane)

The Word “Lokuttara made up of two words in Pālī. They are “Loka” mean ‘world’ and “kuttara” mean ‘transcending, thus, Lokuttara is explained as a process of transcending the world consisting of the five aggregates of clinging. Only Kusala of Lokuttara can destroy latent defilements and end Sasāra.

There are Four stages of enlightenments, stream entry, one-returner, non-returner and Arahata, each stage has one path Citta moment and two or three fruit citta moments.

These eight types of Citta take Nibbāna as object. If Jhāna is associated with the path Citta then there are five times eight Lokuttara Citta forty in total.

Only by Vipassanā meditations is the wisdom and purify of vision, which is knowledge is developed, which are conditions, for these arise of path and fruit knowledge.

Path consciousness destroys latent mental defilements. Fruit consciousness experiences the liberation along with path consciousness. All Lokuttara Citta take Nibbāna as object path arises on, so there is no functional Lokuttara Citta.

With stream entry, one has entered the irreversible stream following to Nibbāna. The three course fetters of worry view of self, doubt in triple gem and belief in rites and ceremonies are cut. One will not do transgressive deeds that lead to rebirth in woeful planes of existence. One will take no more than seven rebirths to attain Nibbāna.

The non-returner only weakest grosses form of sensual desire and ill-will. They will be reborn only one more time in sense sphere.

The non-returner cuts off all sense desire, hatred and worry. They never take rebirth in sense plane, but only in fine material plane before attaining Nibbāna.

The Arahanta has completely destroyed all defilements and taints the five subtle fetters of five material and immaterial existence, conceit, restlessness, and ignorance are cut.

Only path consciousness of Lokuttara eradicates all latten defilements with this there is complete cessation of suffering and liberation is achieved one has transcended the five aggregates of clinging and become an Arahant.
